Our Professionals
Beth Blankenship-O'Connor is a native to the Vineyard and began skating at the age of nine. Throughout her skating career, Beth won numerous medals at competitions and was invited to participate in many ice skating shows with skaters such as Paul Wylie, Nancy Kerrigan and Todd Elderedge. In 1997, Beth received a BA in Mathematics and a minor in Sports Medicine and Secondary Education from Merrimack College. After college, Beth pursued her dream of becoming a show skater and worked for Ice Capades, Busch Gardens, Tampa, FL., Advanced Entertainment Group and Rosstyn Ice Shows and Rink Designs. These jobs allowed her to travel all over North America and the Caribbean. Beth is still skates in Ice Show if the time allows it. 

Beth is a full-time coach with the skating club and is also is the director of the grant funded Skate with Sam tot program for pre-school children. 

Beth is a registered group instructor and certified program director with the Professional Skaters Association(PSA).  She is also a member of the Professional Figure Skating Club and is a gold certified judge with Ice Skating Institute.



Jane Elizabeth Taylor began skating at the age of 10 at the Martha's Vineyard Arena. As an amateur, Jane competed throughout New England and trained in Lake Placid, N.Y. and in Newark, DE when not on the
Vineyard.  In 2003, Jane graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in English. For four years she skated on their Collegiate Skating Team, helping the team earn four consecutive
Eastern Conference Championships, National Bronze and Silver Medals and the National Championship in 2002. In 2000, Jane was the Novice Ladies Gold Medalist.

Jane is a U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist and an ISI Gold Judge. She is a Senior Moves in the Field instructor, Registered Group instructor and Registered Free Skating instructor with the
Professional Skaters Association. Jane is also a Technical Specialist for singles skating in Non-Qualifying competitions within the new judging system (IJS.) Her students are currently working toward their Pre-Preliminary thru Juvenile tests with U.S. Figure Skating.

Jane is the director of the Skating School of Martha’s Vineyard’s annual summer program and has been the director of the Martha’s Vineyard FSC’s annual ice shows in 2007 & 2009.

In her spare time, Jane enjoys running and spending time with her family & friends and her English Mastiff, Luka.
