Learn to Skate
Learn to Skate Director: Beth O'Connor (bethboconnor27@gmail.com)

Ice skating is a great way to stay active, be with friends and have FUN! The Martha's Vineyard Figure Skating Club (MVFSC) Learn to Skate program follows the curriculum of the US Figure Skating program.  Classes offered are in a group setting for all skill levels ages 3 through adult.

Whether you have an aspiring figure skater or hockey player, the MVFSC Learn to Skate program is the place to start.  It prepares skaters with the basic skills to move into the MVFSC club programs and Martha's Vineyard Youth Hockey Program.

Learn to Skate sessions generally run for 5-8 weeks at a time throughtout the arena's calendar year.  Classes are held on Tuesdays only with 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time.  The second to last week of classes, skaters are evaluated and they will receive an evaluation form marking their progress.  After they have been evaluated, skaters will be given priority for the next session of classes.

Learn to Skate participants are eligible to perform in the Annual Spring Show(March 24 & 25th), which gives skaters the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments to music while wearinng professional costumes.
