Ice skating is a great way to stay active, be with friends and have FUN!
The Martha's Vineyard Figure Skating Club (MVFSC) Learn to Skate
program follows the curriculum of the US Figure Skating program.
Classes offered are in a group setting for all skill levels ages 3
through adult.
Whether you have an aspiring figure skater or
hockey player, the MVFSC Learn to Skate program is the place to start.
It prepares skaters with the basic skills to move into the MVFSC club
programs and Martha's Vineyard Youth Hockey Program.
Learn to
Skate sessions generally run for 5-8 weeks at a time throughtout the
arena's calendar year. Classes are held on Tuesdays only with 25
minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time. The second to
last week of classes, skaters are evaluated and they will receive an
evaluation form marking their progress. After they have been
evaluated, skaters will be given priority for the next session of
classes.
Learn to Skate participants are eligible to perform in
the Annual Spring Show(March 24 & 25th), which gives skaters the
opportunity to showcase their accomplishments to music while wearinng
professional costumes.
